Shadowrocket FAQ
  1. Is there an official Android app?

No. Official is App Store only. Similarly named Android packages, cracks, and third-party market installers are not Shadowrocket.

  2. Why can’t I find it in the store?

Storefronts differ. Sign out of the current Apple ID, sign into an account from a listed region, search Shadowrocket, and check app ID 932747118. Taps are on the download page. Don’t download an IPA from a browser.

  3. Can I switch back to my original Apple ID after buying?

Yes. The app is already on the device. If the store later asks to update or restore the purchase, temporarily switch back to the account that paid.

  4. Do you provide nodes or subscriptions?

No. This site only explains where the official app comes from and how the interface works. Servers, data, and expiry dates go to the provider who configured you. Any page claiming “free lines from the official site” has nothing to do with this app.

  5. How long does one client purchase last?

The client is a one-time purchase, not a monthly rent on the app. Whether a node expired is a separate matter. If the app is still there and the line is gone, you renew the service—not another Shadowrocket—unless you changed devices and can’t restore the purchase.

  6. Does it have to stay on? Does it drain battery?

No. Switch back to Direct when you’re done. Daily use Config, not Proxy, so video and system updates don’t crowd the tunnel—that saves power. Heat is often a bad node or long global use.

  7. All nodes gone after a subscription update?

Check whether the URL was truncated or expired. Sign into the provider dashboard and look at the plan and device count. Tapping Update over and over in the client will not resurrect an expired plan.

  8. Connected, but only some sites open?

Usually split routing or DNS, not “you’re not connected.” Temporarily switch to Proxy: if everything opens then, go back to Config and add a rule. Don’t reinstall first. Matching steps are in tutorial sections 05 and 08.

  9. How do I choose between this, Surge, and Quantumult X?

Shadowrocket is lighter: importing a subscription, three modes, and daily split routing are enough for most people. The other two go deeper on rules, scripts, and rewrite—and steeper. Walk the tutorial first. Reach for a heavier tool only when you truly outgrow the writing.

  10. Are nodes still there after I delete the app? What about a new iPhone?

Deleting the app may wipe the local list. The subscription URL is still in your email or the provider’s dashboard—add it again after reinstalling. New phone: restore the app with the original purchase account, import the subscription, and allow VPN again.

  11. Why does the first connect ask for VPN permission?

iOS rule: taking over system traffic requires adding a VPN configuration. On an official store install, this is the normal door, not a virus warning. If you tapped Don’t Allow, delete the old configuration in Settings and try again. See tutorial section 02.
